LEGAL and Grady Goat Farm RULES *

We strive to maintain a happy, safe and serene environment for the horses and those who are interested in helping our rescues.

1) Release of Liability: All visitors and volunteers (or parents) understand the risks inherent to a farm and are required to sign a release of liability in order to be on the property.

2) Age Minimum: Grady Goat strives to ensure the safety of all volunteers, visitors, animals and staff at all times therefore; Volunteers must be 18 or older or have parental consent.

3) Farm Safety & Cleanliness: Keep our farm clean. Store pitch forks, muck rakes, shovels and buckets safely out of the way. Proper storage eliminates tripping hazards and extends the working life of our tools.

4) Main Gate: Always be sure the main gate closes and secures behind you on entry and exit to prevent animals from wandering onto the road.

5) Doors/Gates/Fences: Check stall doors, and paddock gates. Paddock gates should remain closed at all times.

6) No Drugs or Alcohol: Neither alcohol nor drugs will be tolerated on the property at any time.

7) Safety/Respect: Do not climb on gates, fences, stalls, etc. No yelling, profanity, aggression or drama please. If you notice something that needs repair or looks dangerous, advise a senior volunteer and/or make a note of it and let us know.t.

8) Supplies: If you break an item, please let a senior volunteer know, or make a note and let us know.

9) Safety/Heath of Goats: Because some of the goats are rescued, please always keep in mind that their history may have been traumatic and as a result their behavior may be unpredictable. Do not run at, yell at, tease, throw or swing items at any of the animals at Grady Goat. No restraint devices are to be use on the goats. When in doubt, ask or wait to do it until you get permission. If you are concerned about an issue with a goat, report it to a senior volunteer immediately.

10) Treats/Feeding: Do NOT feed or give treats to ANY animals unless approved to do so.

11) New Rescue Goats: New goats will usually be in our "Quarantine" area. Do not touch or handle without staff supervision.

12) Proper Dress: Always wear appropriate clothing while volunteering at Grady Goat. Closed-toe shoes are a requirement.
